Jack Ofield is the Filmmaker in Residence and Emeritus Prof. of Film at San Diego State University. He is the founding director of The Production Center for Documentary and Drama.
He was a writer-director for the National Film Board of Canada and a resident director at ABC and at WNET/New York. He has produced many programs and series for PBS, ABC, CBS, CBC and Eurovision.
His films have received national, New York and Southwest Emmys, American Film Festival Blue Ribbons, Motion Picture Daily Award, Gabriel Award, honors from the National Conference of Christians and Jews, Finlandia Arts and Letters Award, and others. He has directed theater productions, ranging from Shakespeare to musical theater, in the U.S. and Canada.
