Theatre internships are course THEA 490 in which students may earn 1-3 units of credit. Each unit of credit equals 50 hours of total time during the semester. A 3 unit internship should average 10 hours per week for 15 weeks, totaling 150 hours. The schedule is do be determined prior to registration. There is a form in the TTF office that must be signed by the internship coordinator before students will be given a schedule number.
The application period for internships begins the first day of the semester (before the first day of classes). The most common application materials are a cover letter and resume, submitted to the internship site. Many sites request an in person interview after reviewing the initial materials. SDSU Career Services offers excellent guidance on developing these materials.
This is a Paid Internship opportunity. ELACT will have a workshop on campus January 25, 4pm in Rhapsody Hall in the Music Building. Attendance at the workshop is REQUIRED for those who will become interns.
