Welcome to the San Diego State University School of Theatre, Television, and Film!

TTF is a vibrant community of artists, creators, and scholars. As Interim Director I am proud to share with you the heart of our School and what makes it a unique place to cultivate your passion for the performing arts.

Innovative Productions:  Our students and faculty bring to life a wide range of productions, from classic plays and groundbreaking new musical works to original student creations including four film festivals over the course of the year.

Recognized Faculty: Our distinguished faculty members are not only educators but also accomplished professionals in their fields. They bring a wealth of experience and industry connections to the classroom, ensuring that you receive cutting-edge education and mentorship. Faculty in the School of Theatre, Television and Film lead nationally recognized institutes including The Center for Study of Women in Television and Film, The SDSU New Musical Initiative and The Center for Media and Performance all housed within TTF. Faculty and students work alongside professional staff who provide key support and learning opportunities both in the classroom and in production.

State-of-the-Art Facilities: Our School boasts modern facilities, including advanced studios, performance spaces, and technical labs, all designed to support your creative endeavors and provide you with hands-on learning experiences. The newly renovated Main Stage Theatre and new Prebys Stage are the cornerstones of the SDSU Performing Arts District.

Global Impact: Our graduates have gone on to achieve remarkable success in theatre, television, and film. They work on stages and sets around the world, contribute to influential productions, and make significant impacts in their respective fields.

Community Engagement:  We value our connection with the community and actively seek opportunities to engage with local audiences and collaborate with community organizations. Current students and alumni are embedded into the San Diego and Southern California community through participation in the professional theatre scene and in television and film production. This engagement enriches our students’ educational experience and strengthens our role in the broader cultural landscape.

As you consider your future with us, know that you will be joining a community dedicated to excellence, creativity, and inclusivity. Whether you are drawn to the practice of theatre or film and tv production or the study and critical analysis of our artform, the School of Theatre, Television, and Film at San Diego State University offers a place where your artistic vision can flourish.

I look forward to connecting with you!
