Alicia Annas Historical Costume Collection

The costume area in the School of Theatre, TV and Film (TTF) houses the Alicia Annas Historical Costume Collection (AAHCC). This is a costume collection of over 1000 costumes/artifacts donated by university offices, alumni, faculty, staff, friends and the public. The collection dates back to the 1860s through the 1970s.

The Alicia Annas Historical Costume Collection mission is to collect, organize, preserve, and make accessible primary source materials pertaining to this history of dress from the 1800s to the contemporary era. The AAHCC is a study collection which provides a compilation of historic costumes to be studied as primary research by costume designers, historical pattern designers, university offices, faculty, staff, students, friends and the public. In keeping with San Diego State University’s mission to provide an environment that encourages intellectual development of students and the community, the AAHCC promotes the use of materials by the aforementioned researchers.
