Theatre Arts Minor
The School of Theatre, Television, and Film provides high quality education for undergraduate students that emphasizes excellence in the arts and technology, grounded in conceptual and historical foundations. A Theatre Arts minor allows students to expand their own major with compelling coursework in the theatrical arts.
Theatre is designated as an Impacted program and specific requirements are enforced to admit to the major and the minor programs of study.
The Minor in Theatre Arts consists of 23-24 units to include the following courses:
- THEA 100 - The Art of Theatre, 3 units
- THEA 120 - Heritage of Storytelling, 3 units
- THEA 130 - Acting I, 3 units
- THEA 205 - American Musical on Stage & Screen , 3 units
- THEA 240 - Theatre Design and Technology I, 3 units
- THEA 460A or 460B - History of Theatre, 3 units
And 3 Units from:
- THEA 325 - Script Analysis , 3 units
- THEA 350 - Musical Theatre Performance I , 3 units
- THEA 431 - Workshop in Improvisational Acting, 3 units
- THEA 476 - Event Coordination & the Entertainment Industry, 3 units
And 2-3 Units from:
- THEA 315 - Theatre for Young Audiences , 3 units
- THEA 335 - Stage Management-Theory , 3 units
- THEA 345 - Theatre Marketing and Publicity, 3 units
- THEA 355 - Movement for the Theatre , 2 units
- THEA 422A or B - Practicum in Production (Scenery or Costume), 2 units
- THEA 525 - Dramaturgy, 3 units
