Bio
Brandon PT Davis is a Scenic and Experiential Designer, educator, and app developer whose work spans theatre, live events, and creative software. He brings more than fifteen years of professional experience to his position as Lecturer in the School of Theatre, Television, and Film at San Diego State University. He is a member of United Scenic Artists, Local USA 829.
Based in San Diego, Brandon has designed more than 130 productions for theatres across the United States, including South Coast Repertory, New Swan Shakespeare Festival, Maples Repertory Theatre, Theatre SilCo, and Okoboji Summer Theatre. His work ranges from Shakespeare and classic musicals to contemporary plays and world premieres. Beyond theatre, he served as a Senior Scenic and Experiential Designer at Adaptive Design Services, developing environments for live events, branded experiences, and immersive installations. He also develops apps for designers, creating tools for visual research, portfolio organization, color exploration, and scale conversion. His software grows directly from the practical needs of his work in the studio and classroom.
Brandon holds an MFA in Scenic Design from the University of California, Irvine, and a BFA in Theatre Arts from Stephens College. He has previously taught at Stephens College, the University of Texas at El Paso, and the University of California, Irvine. His teaching connects traditional design practices with digital visualization and emerging technologies, emphasizing artistic exploration, collaboration, and professional preparation. He is committed to making design tools and processes accessible while helping emerging designers develop their own perspectives and communicate their ideas with confidence.
