Bio
Michael Feinstein is a writer, filmmaker, film historian, and educator who is deeply passionate about both the history and artistry of cinema. As a filmmaker, he has written and directed several short films, including Shlomo Pussycat, which was accepted into over a dozen film festivals and aired on PBS, where it received an Audience Award by its viewers. In 2019, The Browsing Effect, the feature film Feinstein wrote, directed, and produced, was distributed by Gravitas Ventures.
As a writer, Feinstein also co-created the MTV webseries Short Comings, which premiered on MTV’s website in 2013 and co-wrote the short film To An Extent, which won the Best Drama Award from The Ivy Film Festival. Furthermore, in late 2012, a political farce he wrote entitled Blagojevich, Blagojevich premiered at the Athanaeum Theater in Chicago, Illinois.
Feinstein has earned a BFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and an MA in Media Studies from the University of Southern California.
