Bio
Brooke is a professional costume designer currently based out of Southern California. Her theatrical credits include work at: Center Repertory Theater, Ohio Light Opera, The Old Globe/University of San Diego Shiley M.F.A. Program, Diversionary Theatre, MOXIE Theatre, and East West Players. She was the Costume Design Advisor for Santa Fe Opera’s Apprentice Scenes program, as well as a Costume Design Assistant at the Santa Fe Opera for several years, and continued her work in opera as the Assistant to the Costume Director with San Diego Opera. She was also the 2020 recipient of USITT's Zelma H. Weisfeld Award in Costume Design and Technology.
In her work as a lecturer, she strives to bring current perspectives and practices into the classroom, as well as a mindset towards individualized student growth and mentorship. She teaches a variety of courses in the program including key costume design courses, courses in costume technology, and traditional and digital rendering. She also advises several M.F.A. Costume students on realized productions throughout the season. She received her M.F.A. from San Diego State University in Costume Design & Technology, and B.A.s in Technical Theater and Sociology from California Lutheran University.
