Samantha Tate

Hello, I’m Samantha Tate, and I’m so excited to be joining the Theatre, Television, and Film Department as the new School Coordinator and Director’s Assistant. For the past few years, I’ve worked in Enrollment Services at SDSU, and throughout my career in higher education, my love for assisting students has blossomed. Prior to SDSU, I worked in the English and Environmental Studies Departments at San Jose State University as an Administrative Assistant.

 

My passion and curiosity for theatre and film has always been strong, and it’s what drew me to this role. I was part of the ensemble for Hairspray in high school and also took script writing courses during my time at San Jose State. Outside of work, I love reading suspense novels, binge-watching new shows and films, and rewatching The Office. I also enjoy doing puzzles and experimenting with cookie recipes—taste testers are always welcome! I’m looking forward to collaborating with everyone here and contributing to the success of the department, and I hope to do this job justice.
