Entertainment Management Basic Certificate
The basic certificate in Entertainment Management provides students with specialized knowledge and skills in the area of backstage management of people, equipment, and technology in the performing arts.
Students study and gain experience in special event management, stage management, production management and live concert operations.
These courses create a foundation of knowledge for entry-level career positions in managerial and business environments of the events and music industry, and are created for those who want to expand their knowledge of management and production.
The certificate is for students and community members who want to pursue careers as production managers, producers, stage managers, and entrepreneurs, in the areas of live performing arts.
The certificate requires completion of 12 units to include 12 units selected from the following courses:
- THEA 335 Stage Management-Theory (3)
- THEA 336 Stage Management-Practicum (3)
- THEA 476 Event Management in the Entertainment Industry (3)
- THEA 537 Production & Event Management in Arts (3)
Students in all areas of management and business can apply this certificate to the arts and entertainment industries.
