Our Theatre Arts programs prepare students for excellence in every aspect of theatre! Our undergraduate and graduate programs are structured to involve students in all aspects of theatre, from acting and musical theatre, to design for sets, costumes, lighting and sound, dramaturgy, stage management, and cutting-edge advances in theatre technology.
Students are given numerous opportunities to develop and showcase their acting, directing, design, and technical expertise through our season of plays and musicals. Outstanding professional growth opportunities are provided through associations with a number of regional professional theatre companies as well as regular campus visits by industry professionals. Our connections to local theatre companies continues to grow every year, bridging the educational theatre community to the professional world.
Following our 2003 merger with Television and Film, the faculty and staff have actively and enthusiastically developed interdisciplinary collaboration among students in both programs. Recognizing that the traditional boundaries between theatre, television, and film are becoming increasingly blurred, we believe it is our responsibility to prepare students to succeed in all aspects of the entertainment industry. We create an atmosphere in which students can actively collaborate with their peers in the School of Theatre, Television, and Film both in the classroom and on practical production projects.
