The TFM undergraduate minor covers the fundamentals of film, TV, and media history and criticism, and is open to all SDSU students. With a breadth of courses covering media past and present, domestic and international, the minor is customizable to a variety of student interests and can enhance any undergraduate education. Emphasizing the critical study of media texts and industries, the TFM minor gives students the skills to respond to and engage meaningfully with a society increasingly shaped by the moving image.
Television, Film and New Media is an Impacted program and specific requirements are enforced to admit to the major and the minor programs of study.
Prerequisites for the TFM minor: (6 units)
Required Courses: (9 units)
AND 6 units from:
AND 3 units from: (prerequisite: completion of TFM 310 and TFM 330)
Total Units 24
Courses in the minor may not be counted toward the major, but may be used to satisfy preparation for the major and general education requirements, if applicable. A minimum of six upper division units must be completed at SDSU.
